Finland Finland Finland & Hope

Well it is time for the first Zeeppo’s Knitting Blog Sing Along. This is in honor of being inundated by visitors from Finland. So you know the words join in.

FINLAND
=======

Chorus : Finland, Finland, Finland.
The country where I want to be,
Pony trekking or camping,
Or just Watching TV,
Finland, Finland, Finland.
It's the country for me.

Verse : You're so near to Russia.
So far from Japan,
Quite a long way from Cairo,
Lots of miles from Vietnam.

Chorus : Finland, Finland, Finland.
The country where I want to be,
Eating breakfast or dinner,
Or snack lunch in the Hall,
Finland, Finland, Finland.
Finland has it all.

Verse: You're so sadly neglected,
And often ignored.
A poor second to Belgium,
When going abroad.

Chorus : Finland, Finland, Finland.
The country where I quite want to be,
Your mountains so lofty,
Your treetops so tall,
Finland, Finland, Finland.
Finland has it all.

Repeat : Finland, Finland, Finland.
The country where I quite want to be,
Your treetops so tall,
Finland, Finland, Finland.
Finland has it all.

Fade : Finland has it all ...

Singing about a nation that has a much cooler flag than Germany gets me thinking {Follow along this is going to way out in left field}. Why do so many nations have boring flags? You know who you are, Libya. Of all of the things you can say about America we have a really cool flag. So does the United Kingdom, Israel and Finland.

This may getting just a bit more serious than I normally do. And the lead in certainly suggest that this is serious. There are many nations on this planet that are trying to export items to other nations. The thing that America exported more than most was hope. Not that we have not created our share of evil. For goodness sake Hitler mentioned us glowingly in Mein Kamf for our treatment of the Naïve Americans. Lord knows there are enough people bashing us from within and without and I have no intention of doing that. This is not the time and certainly not the place.

It is a plea to suggest that we get back to exporting hope. Whether that is providing the funding for a goat in the Heifer project or adopting a kid from Sally Struthers. Maybe it is as simple at knitting something with me on Sundays at Knit 1 {Hint, Hint – I am getting lonely out there}.

Be safe out there and keep you stick on the ice.
