The Port Authority Wants You Dead

This is is going to sound mental. I was on a bus today. On buses there are the upright bars that you hold onto while standing up. I was on a bus that was missing two of the uprights. The upright in the picture was not connected at the bottom. I noticed this when someone grabbed the bar and nearly killed themselves.

The sharp edge of the bottom of the bar was taped off at the bottom so one did not cut themselves. So someone that works for the Port Authority saw this and figured they should duct tape it. By the way the guy sitting in front of the bar was nearly smacked in the head with a metal pipe. When someone complained to the drive he moved the pipe slightly and claimed it was not his problem.

Now these upright bars look like they are holding up the horizontal bar at the top of the vertical bars. I wonder what happens to the horizontal bar when only one of the four vertical bars is attached at both ends.

Well the Port Authority claims that they cannot pay their people and they cannot run all their routes. Still they can afford expensive down town office space and to leave themselves open to obvious law suits.
