Someone should remind me that I hate these things. About once every year or two I buy a bag of pork rinds like an idiot. For some reason I don't remember that I don't like them. So what do I do I buy a bag.

Hats and Tunes
Still working on hats and the accordion. To make things supper scary i am on my fourth clown hat this month. And The accordion band now has three accordions a drummer and piano player. It is just like a real band only evil, really evil.We are going to offer to play amazing grace during church.
The Salvation Army is having it's family camp at the end of August. At least I think it is. I can't remeber. We should take our instruments. That would be so cool. Well it would be from a certain point of view. And considering that I have a unique point of view that makes it cool. The book is moving along quickly. I am happy with it's progress.
Be safe out there and keep you stick on the ice.

I Want This Pen
I want to find this pen in a normal type store in the Pittsburgh area. It is comfortable and have filled at least one composition book using it. I found one of the bus a month ago. Since then I have refilled it using the insides of other pens.
Perhaps that is a bit nuts. Still, it is what I have been doing. I appears that I have been writting too much the old fashioned way by hand. Anyway I developed a huge callous on my middle finger. And using this pen for the last month it has gone away.
I have looked it up on their web site and I see no way to find it in a store. There are a few places to ordr it online. Still, I don't usually like buying small things on line. I am looking for a pen for pitty's sake. I would prefer not to spend five buck on shipping for a two dollar item.
My only regret is that they do not make it in red. And even if they did I have not been able to find a reasonable way to buy it. I suppose I am a bit off like that, I have to write into the note book in blue. Then I type it into the computer and print it out. Then I correct it in red. And long time reader of this blog know that if I have to edit something that is going to take a good number of red pens.
You know Bic should make a metal version of this pen. Or a version that is not disposable. I would buy that pen. Heck I might even send away for that pen. I will not send away for a plastic pen.
Thank you for your time. And if you are from the Bic Corporation please tell me where you sell your pen in Pittsburgh. I need a couple blue ones and a bunch of red ones when you start making the red ones.

Monday Knitting
As always is was the Sheep and Dinosaur knitting group on Sunday. Just for yuks here is the hat I am working on for Miss Flower the Clown. It is made in the Green and yallow tutufruity red heart something or other.
I can't remember the name of yarn. It was ring around the rosey or something like that. Weird how we still songs about the plague. Maybe the yarn was not named for that song.
This is a random picture of the back of Walt. We were also writing balloon stuff as well. So we had some balloon fun as well.
And this is the Great Train Robery. It is one of my favorite movies that you can now see on the Hulu thing.
Well be safe out there and keep your stick on the ice.

Typing Lots of Typing
The last several days I have been doing is typing and working on The Salvation Navy.
The only knitting I have been doing is at the Monday Group.
There have also been stuff to do with this and that.
Mostly lots of typing. On the up side I watch the Hulu while Type. So I have gone through all the Babylon 5 and most of bones and a bunch of the movies.

Random Stuff
I have been busy with this and that. Mostly i am trying to get all of the first book in The Salvation Navy Series into the computer. I have it written out on a bunch of composition books. If I ever sell this book I will hire a secretary for the next one. It is really better for the rest of civilization if someone does the typing for me.
On the knitting front these are there three clown hats that have been knit thus far. The rolled up thing is a short Long Scarf (only 25 feet). this is the first scarf that I made for standing kettle with the army. Sot it is old and full of mistakes. Still, for practice it is a great little thing. Especially for the kids since it is shorter and easier to handle. On something unrelated entirely what is with the Numa Numa stuff on the you tube. I had no idea that kind of thing existed. Perhaps I should be paying more attention to fads and trends. If I get someone to type for me then I will waste more time looking for stuff like that.
I suppose one could become famous by doing weird stuff on the internet. If that is true then where is my fame. I can wonder off on a strange tangent no one cares about better than anyone I know. Perhaps there are people that care about that Numa Numa thing. Maybe that is the different I have to do something interesting that people care about.
Well that sounds like a great deal of effort. Perhaps I will just keep going on about random unimportant things.

Do I know who Jimmy Shand is? Oh do I.
I love Jimmy Shand. And how many people have some one write a song anoud them. This is especially rare in the music world. And it does not count if you wrote it about yourself. That just makes you a burk. Does Fifty Cent have a song about him, No. Madona, Prince, Sting, Lawrence Welk, No No No and No.
Amadeus Mozart, Bach and Jimmy Shand do.
By the besides the Pennsylvania Polka this is my Favorite Polk ala Jimmy Himself
And Just to be out there.
Just a bit of Trivia Jimmy has more pieces of Music to his name than the Beatles and Elvis put together. Few people other than Robert Burns himself have done more to save traditional Scottish Music than Jimmy.
If could play the button accordion I would buy a Shand Morino. This is the same accordion that Jimmy played. Jimmy didn't like the accordions of his time and had one built to his specification. Hohner still makes it today.
Jimmy passed away a few years ago. Still he left us legacy of music that few can equal.

Don't Leave You Accordion in a Hot Car - Trainwreck Edition
Did you know that the insides of an accordion are usually held together with Bee's Wax. By the way the only way to be an ubber nerd is to play the Accordion. So of course I have taken this instrument up.
If your Accodion is making a rateling sound and many of the keys do not make a sound this is a problem. It means that the metal reeds on the inside have fallen off the inside of the Accodion. I of course know this because I took apart out broken accordion. The wind chest gizmo thing on the button side with the metal reeds that had fallen off.
And YouTube was to the rescue again. This is a clip from a discovery chanel show. I forget the name of the show but they show you how stuff is made.
With this clip, a sodering iron and a quick trip to the hardware store I was able to get the keyboard sideof this device working again. The case is warped in servaral places making it leak air in several places. This apparently is bad for the operation of one of these things.
This is the prettiest of the accodions we have amassed. It has more notes than the Hohner that I use and has a softer sweeter sound. Since most of the reeds have fallen off the button side it will take me a while to get it working again. I also need to find some straps to wear this instrument since it did not come with them.
In my regular You Tube Hunting I found Wolfgang Thobae. He has several of the Hallmarks of a good accordion player. First he does not look at the Keys. Second he is able to play both sets of keys on his instrument. Third he can read sheet music and play at the same time. And fourth he does not have the notes written on the keys of his accordion.
As an added bonus he is playing a larger and new Hohner accodion like the one that I use. This give me hope for my eventual upgrade when I know what I am doing.
Moon River
Scarborough Fair
Good By Yellow Brick Road
Knights in White Satin
House of the Rising Sun
Just for I have to mention the most famous American Accodion Players. Of course this is Weird Al Yankovik.
If you have watcvhed all these videos you have won the wated time aware for the week.Be safe out there and keep your stick on the ice.
More AYBS
Since people actually commented when I stuck on of these up I am going to put another up. John Inman playing multiple rolls what is not to like.
